Personal bike sourcing · London
Jay Wheels helps people across London find good-value used bikes based on their budget, height and how they ride.
Tell me what you need and I’ll help narrow down the options.
You don’t need to know what groupset you want or what frame size you are.
Or ask me on WhatsApp.
How it works
Share your budget, height and what you’ll use the bike for. Commuting, weekend rides, getting fitter, your first proper bike, or something else.
I’ll look for bikes that make sense for your budget and explain the differences without drowning you in specifications.
Once we find the right option, I’ll help make the buying process as straightforward as possible.
A starting point, not a specification sheet
You don’t need to know exactly which make or model you want. Start with the basics.
I’ll use that to help narrow down suitable options. No endless scrolling. No trying to decode every groupset, frame size or marketplace description yourself.

“Not sure yet” is a perfectly good place to start.
Looking beyond the price
A cheap bike isn’t always a good deal. Condition, sizing, components and future maintenance costs matter just as much as the price.
When looking at a bike, these are some of the things I pay attention to.
Cracks, dents, damage and obvious previous repairs can turn a bargain into an expensive mistake.
A bike can be great value and still be completely wrong for you if the frame size doesn’t fit.
Chains, cassettes, tyres, brake pads and bearings all wear over time. Knowing what may need replacing soon helps you understand the real cost of the bike.
Two bikes at the same price can have very different frames, gears, wheels and components. That’s where knowing what you’re looking at makes a difference.
Where possible, I look for clear information about the bike, ownership and condition before recommending an option.

Find Me a BikeWhy buy used?
Buying used can often get you significantly more bike for the same money than buying new.
You also avoid some of the initial depreciation that comes with buying new.
But cheap and good value are not the same thing. Used bikes can be overpriced, badly maintained or simply the wrong size. The goal is finding one that actually makes sense for you.
A person, not a marketplace
I’m Jay.
Straight advice.
No pressure.
No need to know it all.
I started working in a high-end bike shop when I was around 13, grew up around bikes and raced when I was younger.
After getting back into cycling, I realised buying a decent used bike can still be unnecessarily confusing.
Prices are all over the place. Sizing isn’t always clear. Specifications make simple decisions feel complicated.
Jay Wheels is my way of making that process easier. Straight advice. No pressure. No need to pretend you already know everything about bikes.
Ask Jay a QuestionA few useful answers
From your first bike to something specific. Start here.
Jay Wheels can help with road bikes, hybrid bikes, commuter bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, folding bikes and other used bikes depending on your budget and requirements.
Yes. Tell me your height and, where useful, your inside-leg measurement. I can help narrow down which frame sizes are likely to suit you.
Yes. Tell me what you want to spend and I’ll help look for options that make sense within that range. If the budget doesn’t realistically match what you’re looking for, I’ll tell you.
Delivery may be available depending on the bike and location. Collection can also be arranged where appropriate.
Jay Wheels primarily focuses on used bikes. Any bike being sold directly through the site will show its condition and relevant details.
That’s completely fine. Tell me where you’ll ride, how often you expect to use the bike and roughly what you want to spend. That is normally enough to start narrowing down the right type.
Yes. If you already know the brand, model, frame size or type of bike you want, send the details over and I can help look for suitable options.
Bikes and opportunities may come from private sellers, cycling marketplaces and other suitable channels. The focus is on finding options that make sense rather than relying on one marketplace.
Yes. You do not need to understand frame geometry, groupsets or bike specifications before getting in touch.
Pricing depends on the type of sourcing request. Tell me what you’re looking for and I’ll explain the options before anything starts.
It depends on your budget, size and how specific the request is. Common bikes may appear quickly, while unusual sizes or particular models can take longer. I’d rather find the right option than rush you into the wrong one.
Let’s start with you
You don’t need to know the exact model. Send over your budget, height and what you’ll use the bike for and we’ll start from there.
